Fix the internet — restart your Wi-Fi router
When the internet "stops working", nine times out of ten this fixes it. No tech skills needed.
1
Find the router
It's the box with the blinking lights — usually near where the internet cable enters your home.
⚠️ Don't press the tiny pinhole button — That one erases the router's settings. We're only unplugging power.
2
Pull the power plug
Unplug the power cord from the router. If there's a second box (the modem), unplug that too.
3
Wait 30 seconds
Really wait — this lets it forget its bad state. Count it out.
4
Plug it back in
Modem first, then the router. Now give it 2–3 minutes while the lights settle.
5
Check the lights
Steady or gently blinking green/white is good. Solid red after 5 minutes means it's not you — call your internet company.
6
Test it
Open any website on your phone over Wi-Fi. Working? You just did tech support.
